Founded in 2003, Tesla, Inc. (formerly Tesla Motors) is a multinational corporation that manufactures and sells electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries and solar panels. Founded in 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Mark Tarppening, Tesla's Model S was the world's best selling electric, plug-in vehicle in 2015 and 2016. Tesla opened its CityCenter showroom in January 2017, two blocks from the Gallery Place Metro.

Tesla was able to bring to market a less expensive vehicle in the Model 3 due to improvements in efficiency throughout the manufacturing process. By creating a cheaper option, Tesla hopes to reach a wider audience of potential customers. Tesla’s culture is targeted towards people who want a welcoming and interactive customer service experience. It is also targets towards consumers who want to reduce their impact on the environment by purchasing energy efficient vehicles. Tesla's unique and stylish designs, in addition to the Model 3's affordable price allows people to have the sports car they want at the price they need.
